At SALTO International School we follow the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The subjects of the IPC are taught in both languages, Dutch and English.

The IPC is a comprehensive and thematic curriculum designed for primary schools. The IPC is widely used in international schools around the world and is designed to provide a global perspective, fostering an understanding of different cultures and perspectives.

Key features of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) include

Thematic Approach

The IPC is organized around thematic units of study. These units are designed to be engaging and relevant to students' lives, connecting various subjects within a central theme or concept. This interdisciplinary approach promotes meaningful learning experiences.

International Mindedness

A core principle of the IPC is the promotion of international mindedness. The curriculum aims to develop students who appreciate and respect different cultures, viewpoints, and perspectives. This global awareness is integrated into the units of study, fostering a sense of interconnectedness.

Personal Learning Goals

The IPC emphasizes the development of personal qualities and skills, referred to as Personal Goals. These goals include adaptability, communication, cooperation, thoughtfulness, and respect. They are designed to help students develop not only academically but also socially and emotionally.
